Following NH Capital’s recent acquisition of Zaragoza CFF, the club and Casademont Zaragoza today announced a new partnership designed to support the professionalisation of Zaragoza CFF, strengthen women’s sport in Aragón and build one of Spain’s most distinctive platforms for women’s sport.
The partnership brings together Zaragoza CFF’s history, identity and ambition in women’s football with Casademont Zaragoza’s sporting prowess, established professional sports infrastructure, commercial experience, local reach and strong connection with the city.
Under the agreement, Zaragoza CFF will benefit from greater operational, commercial and organisational support, while retaining its football identity and sporting focus. The objective is to help professionalise the club on and off the pitch, grow its visibility, strengthen its connection with supporters and build a women’s football platform in Zaragoza recognised for its ambition, excellence and long-term sustainability.
The partnership reflects a wider vision: to make Zaragoza a reference point for elite women’s sport in Spain, with women’s football and women’s basketball both playing a central role .
The two clubs will explore areas of collaboration including commercial partnerships, marketing and communications, ticketing initiatives, fan engagement, operational support and shared expertise across professional sport.
The project is also supported by a group of investors and advisors with experience across sport, business, technology, media and culture. Confirmed supporters include a group of Québec-based investors including Olympic champion Bruny Surin, former professional Canadian football player and serial-entrepreneur Étienne Boulay, AI and data leader Ravy Por, digital business leader Nils Cayrol, publishing entrepreneur Julia Duchastel, and sports executive and former Montreal Roses President Annie Larouche.
Operationally, basketball and football will continue to be managed separately. Casademont Zaragoza will remain responsible for its basketball operations, while NH Capital will oversee the football platform. The partnership is designed to create collaboration where it adds value, while preserving the distinct identity, leadership and sporting focus of each club.
The football platform will also aim to strengthen the pathway from grassroots participation to elite football, creating clearer development opportunities for young players across Aragón.
Reynaldo Benito, President of Casademont Zaragoza, said: “This partnership reflects our belief in the future of women’s sport in Zaragoza. By sharing experience, knowledge and professional infrastructure where it makes sense, we can help strengthen the city’s sporting ecosystem while respecting the identity and independence of each club.”
Nicolas Hien, founder of NH Capital and one of the lead investors, said: “Zaragoza CFF is more than a football club. It is part of a movement to create more opportunities, more visibility and bigger dreams for girls and women in sport. Following NH Capital’s recent acquisition of the club, our role is to help give that movement the structure, resources and long-term commitment it deserves, while respecting Zaragoza CFF’s identity, roots and sporting soul“
“This partnership with Casademont Zaragoza is also about building a bridge between Aragón and Québec. We believe both regions have a lot to learn from each other, in sport, in business and in the way communities can come together behind women’s sport“
“Together, we have the opportunity to build one of the most distinctive women’s sport platforms in Spain, rooted in Aragón, connected to Québec, and with ambitions that go far beyond both.”
Manuel Abellán San Martín, President of Zaragoza CFF, said: “Casademont Zaragoza’s women’s basketball project is a great example of what can be achieved in Zaragoza when ambition, structure, local support and elite sporting standards come together. Their success in national and European competition provides a powerful reference point for us as the club enters a new phase of professionalisation and works to build a women’s football project capable of growing toward similar levels of competitiveness, visibility and local pride.”
“For Zaragoza CFF, this partnership is an important step forward. Our priority is to build a club that is stronger every day: better organised, more visible, more connected to its supporters and better equipped to compete. The sporting project remains at the heart of everything, but modern clubs also need strong operations, clear communication, commercial support and professional systems around the team.
“Our focus now is practical: to support the players, staff and academy, strengthen the club’s day-to-day foundations, and build trust with the Zaragoza community. This partnership gives us more tools to do that.”
Alongside Zaragoza CFF’s sporting project, the group will also support football development at community level, with the aim of strengthening the wider football pathway in Aragón.
Further details on specific initiatives, fan engagement activity and operational plans will be shared in the coming months.
